Early Life to 69 CE

Vespasian or Titus Flavius Vespasianus was born on the 7th of November in 9 CE to Titus Flavius Sabinus and Vespasia Polla. They belonged to a rather undistinguished family in the Latin aristocracy. By 69 CE Vespasian had one surviving sibling his older brother who was named after their father. Their father was wealthy enough that both of his sons had had senatorial careers.
